Based out of Lobelville Tennessee, we offer professional Pickleball Court construction services.
Before making the commitment to building a pickleball court, it’s important to consider the amount of space required. A typical pickleball court measures 20 feet by 44 feet. However, extra space around the court is recommended, especially for the serving area and player movement.
Building a pickleball court involves several key steps. Each step is performed carefully and thoroughly by our trained experts. Here’s a general overview of our process here at Property Enhancements.
• Location Selection: Choose a relatively flat area (when available) with good drainage and access to utilities.
• Court Dimensions: A standard pickleball court is 20 feet wide by 44 feet long, with additional space around the court for movement (ideally a minimum 30’x60’ total).
• Surface Type: We use Sportmaster, a professional and 100% acrylic product for the surfacing. Many colors to choose from.
• Orientation: Ideally north-south to minimize sun glare.
• Clearing and Leveling: We remove debris, grass, or existing structures; level the surface.
• Grading: It is vitally important to ensure proper drainage to avoid water pooling.
• Foundation: Install 4” compacted limestone aggregate for proper drainage.
Pour 4000 psi concrete with steel re-inforcment. All outdoor courts installed at 1% slope. Expansion joints for crack control.
• Curing: Allow the base to cure (usually 28 days for concrete).
• Resurfacing Layer: We use an acid etch for new concrete to neutralize the surface for proper bonding. After thoroughly washing, we apply acrylic resurfacer to smooth and seal the surface.
• Color Coating: Next we apply two coats of color coating using non-slip materials.
• Court Lines: Paint regulation lines in white.
Enjoy your new pickleball court for years to come!
